I just realized what this reminds me of.
It’s when everybody checks out of the hotel at the end of Dragon*Con and goes to get their first real meal in five days, and they barely have the energy required to stay awake long enough to eat.

The evening had never been so bitter-sweet.
Rain permeated every inch of his body as he gazed towards the setting sun. How long had it been since he was able to see the sky so deep, so wide? Had it always been so… Beautiful?
A sigh couldn’t escape his lips and his eyes grew heavy. No sound reached his ears, but he could still feel the ground shacking through the vibrations strumming across his back. He could hear the sounds of bombs blasting, lasers whisking across the air, but all of it were echoes in his mind.
As everything was about to go dark, one voice could be heard through the emptiness.
“AO!!!”

Some churches because I’m technically Catholic.
The churches on the bottom are concave and convex, respectively, and they’re built right across from each other so if the tectonic plates push them together, they will fit perfectly. Or something like that; I didn’t pay attention to what the tour guide said (sorry Herr Lochmann), but it’s probably that.
